Matt is a Captain with Austin-Travis County EMS and a native Texan. He has been with Austin-Travis County EMS for 17 years, serving as a Rescue Medic, Tactical Medic, Motorcycle Medic, and COTA Racetrack Medic. He is a member of the Peer Support Team. Matt serves on the board of directors for the Employee Association as well as the Political Action Committee. Matt is a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the Navy Reserves with deployments including Iraq and Afghanistan. Matt is a Rescue Boat Instructor with the Texas Task Force-1, with multiple deployments including Hurricane Harvey. He spends his free time enjoying the outdoors with his wife and daughters, rock climbing, mountain biking, camping, off-roading, and hunting.
